My name is Moses. I wrote the first five books of the Bible. These books are
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. These five books together
are called the Torah (tō-ră). While I was growing up in Egypt, I did not know that I
was going to write books of the Bible. Also, I did not know that I was going to talk
with God at the burning bush. I did not know that I would lead the children of Israel
through the Red Sea and I did not know that I was going to write 613 laws for Israel.

Because God had a plan for my life, going to school prepared me for what God
asked me to do. So, I want to tell you a story about what I learned in the schools in
Egypt and how all of the classes I took helped me to write the first five books of the
Bible. First, let me tell you what the Bible says about me.

“Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was
powerful in speech and action.”

Acts 7:22

To teach me how to write the Torah, God in His wisdom put me in the richest
country in the world. I was born in the country of Kamet (kă-mĕt), but today its
called Egypt. The name of my country Kamet means “the Black land.” Kamet is on
the continent of Alkebulan (ă-kē-bŭ-lăn) but today it’s called Africa. The name Alkebulan,
means “Garden of Eden” and it also means “mother of mankind.”

The rulers of Egypt were called kings. But some call them pharaohs (fă-rōs),
which is an Egyptian word that means “Great House.” I was born during the 18th
Dynasty of Egypt. A dynasty is one family’s bloodline. This means that when I was
born 18 family bloodlines had already ruled Egypt.
